Try regreasing the shift lever. In my car that made a bigger difference in shifter feel than changing the trans and clutch fluid.
Also make sure your master and slave cylinders aren't leaking.

Thanks jim.. I'll give that a shot. The car is relatively new (only 16k miles), so I'm thinking that I really shouldn't need to regrease the damn shifter already, but the DIY someone posted seems easy enough so I'll have to give it a shot. Master and slave cylinders are a-ok (did the slave cyl valvectomy a week ago
).

I stand corrected! Thanks!
Now I'm just kicking myself for not ordering urea grease when I ordered a bunch of other parts..![egads.gif](https://www.s2ki.com/forums/images/smilies/egads.gif)
Edit: Anyone know if redline CV2 grease will work fine instead of urea grease? I got a couple tubes lying around.

Hi all. My issue is perhaps unique? Sure I get that notchiness and need to double clutch when cold 1-2-3. that I can live with. what I am really frustrated with is redlining through the gears almost always required a double clutch action changing 2-3 3-4. If I am racing against something capable, I lose precious time having to do this action - is this just my s2K? thanks all...

my o3 silverstone with 100000 on the clock runs great and has never had a problem but since i got it i notice when driving the car easy and just slowly going from second to third their is a slight bump no grind and nothing very noticable but just alittle slight bump in the shift however none of my gears have ever grinded and are all perfect even when speed shifting at nine k. i change my tranny fluid every fifteen thousand miles with genuine honda mtf. i never really thought it was a big deal ive got a technique where you kinda hit the clutch slightly before letting off the gas and it glides in like butter but this bump only happens to me at very low rpm four plus is like butter

This type of post is common starting in October. Some S2000s never have this issue - several owners experience this though when the temps drop below the 60F mark.
The solution is to double-clutch 1-2 and 2-3 shifts for the first several shifts and to ensure you're using a quality MTF. The two MTFs that seem to work best for most folks is OEM 2nd gen Honda MTF, or Amsoil MTF - which is a full synthetic direct replacement for Honda MTF. The Amsoil takes a little longer to warm up in the colder weather, but provides better wear protection and lasts significantly longer than Honda MTF. Therefore, you may have to double-clutch a couple more shifts when it's cold.
