Not getting any spark
have a 2001 S2000 with about 19000 miles on it. Saturday car was acting up it seem like it wasn't receiving any fuel or spark cause car would turn on but cut right off. so I called Russell & Smith Honda and they checked out the car and said that supposably the gas was contaminated and that only one cylinder was receiving any spark, there still trying to find out why only one is receiving spark. And that it might not be under warranty. So my question is what do you all think would cause the car to do such a thing. help please

Sounds like absolute BS to me. Contaminated gas is not going to cause the ignition system to act up. It could foul the plugs if the gas was bad enough but they would have noticed that right away. They are screwing with you and you better let them know you aren't going to go for it.

Let me clarify myself. Contaminated gas could cause the symptoms you had on Saturday. What they said about the spark is BS. They are really bad mechanics or trying to do you without lube.

Thanks for the reply, well dealership called back and said that the fuel is for sure bad and that the spark plugs were bad. So they tried new fuel and new spark plugs and it worked. There saying that since the fuel was bad its not covered under warranty.

That's not too bad then. It's rare to see fouled plugs from bad gas. I am surprised they didn't notice the plugs to begin with. If they knew there was no spark then they had the plugs out. Plugs that are fouled so bad they won't spark would be very obvious. I wonder what method/tool they used to check the spark.......

I have no Idea but I'm glad its fixed. And it wasn't any thing to major. I'm going to confront the gas station and try to get reimburse for the amount I had to pay out of my pocket.
