Default not even finger tight cam cap.

so my number 3 cam cap, the intake side bolts weren't even finger tight. I was going in to plastigage them due to my low oil pressure and wanted to heck the torque on them all first and those 2 bolts were spinning freely.
Can this be a cause for low oil presure? I would think that could be the problem if not atleast an issue.

if the other bolts on that cap were tight i dont see that being much of an issue.

I have some some 1/2 ass shit in the past that was completely missing cam cap bolts (they were broken/stripped etc) that didnt have any issues at all.

tightening those 2 bolts was good for about 12psi at idle and 15 psi at 4k rpms.
That makes daddy happy.

You need to verify the valve clearance as cam cap torque will effect it.

Its definetly due for a valve adjustment. I can disassemble a motor and reassemble it but I am clueless as to how to do a valve adjustment.

I will do that. Hes down in Florida doing some tuning for the next week or so. Hopefully I will be able to figure out the valve adjustment thing before he gets back. Hes a hell of a driver and a pretty good tuner.

that car is was mean. They're tooling with the bmw 135 and that porsche now. Hes trying to get a good deal on an r34. They may have picked up a lightly front end damaged one for 25 grand. But yea that 2.5rs won him alot of trophies.

A good friend of mine bought the surge tank /fuel system off Lucy for his 2.5RS

Unfortunately a sport bike totaled the drivers side of his car and it couldn't be saved.
