Default Nos

I was wondering if anyone has put NOS on their S. How much extra wear and tear is it on the engine?

This is a theoretical question that can never be answered as it was asked. If done properly it can produce minimal wear on the motor. There have been S2000s with no problems with NOS and S2000s with blown motors on NOS. There is no black and white answer to your question. The only advice I would throw in is that if you're going to add NOS to your S2000 find an installer that knows about the S2000, and has installed other FI systems on it.

If you do the nitrous right and you use a small shot of it you should be fine. If you use too much I will guarantee that you that you will blow up your engine. Alot of the people that I have talked to with nitrous have messed up their engines. One guy even blew up 3 and he still has the nitrous.

Actually I think If ya can't install the system yourself and have a true understanding of how it works and how everthing is connected then don't do it. Its is constant up keep if ya use it alot....checking plugs....checking solenoids ....Checking the lines...Its fun and always gets alot of...ohhh....and ahhhhhs when ya purge it. But I have had mine for over 8 months...I like it. I use it sometimes if i am in the mood. Not nearly as much when i first got it.......Like any toy. But With the remote opener and purge its cool and fun and great for stop light encounters of the c-5 kind. 75 hp at a button can really help
My compression is fine and my horsepower for the engine is fine. So No damage here ...but then again I spray for never more than like 10 seconds......No 13 to 15 second sprays for me.....gets to hot and shit starts to go wrong.

HOW DID YOU RETARD YOUR TIMING FOR THE 75SHOT? I have a 55shot and it can't be giving me more than 25hp. are you using colder plugs and a aftermarket fuel pump? Would I need to do any of this for a 65shot?

75 is fine...It is a wet shot...not dry.......Colder plugs is a must but regular plugs can be used if ya spray in short spurts........Just checked my plugs tonight all looks good....even the tempermental #4 plug.

If your only getting 25 out of a 55 shot i would say your not spraying liquid but gas......Raise the bottle pressure anything under 750 psi and ya got gas ...ya want liquid.

75 and below no retarding needed...but if ya spray 75 ya can't be a moron and spray for 20 seconds....Just short bursts when ya need them.

Check the may issue of sprot compact car....it has a ten page article on Nitrous sorta a 101 intro.

Thanks Buckwheat.
I was planing on only using a short shot, but I don't know the ins and outs of the system. How much did your system cost?
