hmmm the sound on my car is nowhere near as loud as that....still tryin to diagnose i think its just noisey injectors on my car...but cool thanks for the sound clips i've been askin for someone to post them since i wanted to compare a TCT sound with my sound...
here's a question...billlman does it always sound as loud as that or can it be really quiet but same type of sound? same type of description of when it happens too(only when warm)?

WTF
took it to sierra honda is so cal, the tech basically confirmed that its the timing chain tensioner... but i bet the service mgr told my svc advisor to tell me this:
"yea we need to tear down the engine to 'make sure' that its the TCT, then Honda will give the okay to change the TCT. its $900 estimate and if its not the TCT, but the 'guides,' you have to pay $900+tax."
what kind of crap is that? change the TCT, and if the noise goes away, its under honda care. if not, i'll pay for it.. ~120 for TCT is better than $900 bet

Yea seriously thats some . When I went to the dealer the first time, the service writer tried telling me I didn't have a timing chain. I pointed to where you have to remove the tensioner from and was told they would need to take the head off If I were you I would just replace it on my own.

I would strongly recommend going somewhere else. They will find SOMETHING else, to point the finger at you so they don't have to warr it.
If you can change your oil, and put a spare tire on, than you can do this yourself. I've got it down to under five minutes, if that helps explain how easy it is.
Take out the stock airbox, then find the DIY thread.

I agree the techs need to eat also
Even if they hit you 1.5 hrs, it would still be worth it. Pulling the head or any other part is definitely the WRONG way to go, as we know 100% what the problem is.
