.........

This may be the problem I have been having intermittently on my 2002 S2K. Upon hitting the start button first thing in the morning, sometimes the starter delays for a second or two before kicking in. Sometimes starter engages, hesitates, grinds a bit and then cranks normally. However, in all cases to date:
The car will eventually crank and start normally. Problem virtually never repeats the rest of the day.
Sometimes, weeks will go by and this problem won't occur.
This has been going on for about 2 years, and hasn't seemed to get worse.

Anyway, I either hold the start button depressed for a couple of seconds to get normal start, or I release the start button more or less immediately, and then hit it again. I have never observed the dashboard lights dimming, so I am fairly sure that no major current draw occurs when this glitch is happening. Seems pointless to bring the car in for repair action, since I would have to leave the car overnight, and then the dealer would observe a non-repeating symptom which he couldn't possibly find.

^ TCT noise you can hear as like a baseball card through-the-spokes noise.
The noise this post is about is the same noise you get- if for example you press the Start button while the car is running (or turn the key in other cards). That loud Squawk/Grind noise.

I am interested to know if some people have fixed this with replacing the Start button?

its the starter. 100% Mine has been grinding for about 3 years. People grease them only to have it appear rather fast. Just live with it.
The tct is a totally different sound, you can youtube that and see .

i get the same thing, but the thing is the sound is exactly like a TCT sound. I replaced my TCT with a billman TCT not too long ago
