Could be a sticky starter or start button.

I know exactly what you are talking about. It only happens to em on the first start up of the morning if it is not warm. It sounds like a very fast ticking/grinding for like 1 second and then you wont hear it until you start it again the next morning. Any help would be awesome as I am also curious how to fix this

That sounds a little bit like valve noise before the engine has built up oil pressure. It's hard to diagnose something like that without actually hearing the noise, though.

To me it sounds like something may be just a little loose. Put a wrench on all starter bolts including the selanoid and also insure battery cables are tight. Easy to do before taking other measures.

It is the starter. Very heavily discussed on these boards. I tried to grease mine while I had the clutch out last time, but it didn't help. Still have the starter buzz on cold starts.

mine does it every morning but after its warm up it doesn't make the noise. Its the starter you can either take it and try to lube the gear or just replace the starter. You can find more info about this problem by using the search feature on this forum

this just started as it got colder too, sounds like its coming from starter, deff not the engine internals
