Dont bother with that procedure, it wont work. Especially 180 ft-lbs you might as well not even use a nut

Go here man:

Good information on the Outboard Joint and the Wheel Hub as well as the Wheel Nut TSB. I will give the wheel nut a try but the outboard joint may be more than I am prepared to do. Don't want to make things worse..............

Thanks for the link Billman! I give this nut thing another round of go and report back to see if the noise is still present. Maybe I just didn't move the nut far enough?

Would it cause shaking at lower speeds too? I am having vibrations in 1 and 2 gears from 2 to 3k rpm only.

*Update* I tighten the nuts pass the 2 o'clock position and it's still clicking. A friend it sounds like it's coming from the middle of the car, porpeller shaft?

Are the clicks increasing with speed?

Mine is having a similar issue. I replaced one of my axles tonight (found out they had reman axles in there).

The noise and vibrations have cut in half. Im gonna get another axle in the otherside and ill post results.

Btw im MY00 with axle spacers.

The bearings may already be shot. Do more research on Axle Nut here. Tightening only works if you catch it early or before symptoms. All the signs of a worn bearing.....
