Default noise from transmission area plz help

Hi guys, so I bough a very nice 2002 suzuka blue with 96k miles. The car drives great but I do get a weird noise around the transmission area. The noise happeneds when the I am stopped and the vehicle is in neutral or I have just started the car and I give it a little bit of gas, as soon as I push the clutch in it goes away. I noticed the noise is rpm dependant it does get a bit faster and louder as the rpms rise but as soon as the clutch is pushed in there is No noise. The noise sounds like a small ratteling noise or spinning knocking noise, it isn't loud and can be heard with the radio off and top up. Can the transmission input shaft be making the noise??

probably the throw out bearing, since it goes away when you push in the clutch. It could also be your tranny going out.

One more thing. The transmission shifts great no grinding or problems going into gear. Also the tranny and diff fluid were changed. I used Honda MTV and mobile different fluid.

I've had two AP1 transmissions that had bearing failures but both were on the output or secondary shafts. However, I could definitely hear the input shaft bearings were on their way out too. I could very slowly cycle the clutch and specificly hear when the cluch started to grab because I could hear the input shaft start to spin and the bearings were getting noisy. Your throwout bearing could very well be making the noise but thats the #1 thing any mechanic jumps to when there is a noise that goes away when the clutch is pressed. I have belived the "factory fluid is the only way to go for the transmission" BS on two different models of car and I'm DONE. A high quality synthetic is the only thing I will be putting in just about anything I own in the future.

i have the same noise. it is a rattle coming from the gearbox area. i was taking off in first and the rattle got very loud rattle i could tell something was spinning. the car still shifts fine, but that rattle clicking is killing me. the throwout bearing was replace about 900 miles ago.

It's very natural for the tranny to make a little noise when the clutch is released since there's a bearing that has to spin, also since the tranny is right under you the noise is a lot more noticeable. Now if the noise is excessivly loud then it could the TOB like previous have said, or the input shaft bearing.
