Noise/Rattle possibly coming from tranny?
well, when i first bought my 01 S2000 back in January 05, ive noticed there would be a rattling sound coming from a section right next to the gas pedal on the right side, maybe coming from the tranny. i would only hear it when i get past 3k rpm or maybe just more vibration in the car. now, i here it even when im idling. the noise is coming from the same spot and it actually got louder. i took it to the dealer where i got it from a while back and they said something probably dropped in the AC ducts and is rattling in there..nothing major??? i dont feel any differences when i drive the car....the noise just got more noticeable over time. can you guys give me some feedback in what you think is going on? Thanks!

My car had this rattling and it turned out to be the oil filler cap. It fell during an oil change and instead of retrieving it the dealer just replaced it with a new one. It landed right on top of the tranny and made a horrible noise, rattling against the tranny and undercarriage at all speeds and idle.

it's present during acceleration, deceleration, and now idling! some shops said it may take a couple of hours to find out whats going on. they said they may have to take apart the tranny or the dash. they pretty much can take all the time they want to look for this problem and it's going to be expensive as those hours accumilate at the shop. so i was hoping i would be able to find out what the problem is before i take it to the shop and take a look at it with me knowing whats wrong so i can save some money on labor.

My car made a bad rattle from the tranny....turns out the flywheel was loose. I bought a new flywheel...only to figure out that it took my crank with it because the flywheel left steel on it. Hope that isn't what it is...but sounds like a possibility.
