, HTG has it...yea ive read about sandblasting the worm gear but what kind of place does that? an auto shop? plus, is putting it back together easy or would i have to have something to compress it back together?

so i guess the worn guide is ruled out?

can it be that you need valve adjustments..... when valves need adjustments it also have a wierd sound right on top of the engine.

That has got to be the TCT. You can really picture that at lower rpms the timing chain is going a bit slower and the slack is allowing it to slap back and forth. As the rpms speeds up physics takes over and intertia pulls it outward reducing the slaping of the timing chain. I personally would not drive it like that, but my S is not my daily driver.

The sight of all of that snow looks discustingly familiar

thanks everybody. i guess ill let her sit til i get enough for a new TCT. but my first TCT sounded nowhere close to being that loud, reason why i thought it could be something else

and thanks Bill, ive been waiting for you i PM'd you a while back when it started but never got an answer. its alright though

so well my question as earlier, is it easy to put the pin back into the TCT if i were to take it apart to get the 'worm gear' sandblasted?
