i think the noise is simply from the throwout bearing/clutch assembley spinning. Could also very well be the tranny spinning because while in neutral the clutch is still engaged. I aslo think you hear the noise by the right rear because that happen to be where the sound waves are easily heard/traveling to.
Wouldn't I be able to hear it on the passenger side too then? considering the tranny is in the middle and the sound should resonate on both sides?

get under your car and see if there are any cracks, etc. for exhaust leaks. i'm guessing it's either that or it may have to do with your evap system since it contains pumps/valves and just taking a guess that that's where the puffing sound may be coming from since it is located near the rear driver's side tire.

your video is very professionally done. i hear puffing and i hear combing.

sounds like your exhaust is touching somewhere, idle the car and push down on your mufflers, see if the sound goes away Good luck

not necearily, thats like being a doctor and assuming something can only happen if its written in a med school text book( which sadly most of todays docs do). Go get a friend and have him clutch in while near where u feel the noise. The result with either let u know its that or it wont. Trial and error dude, go test my hypothesis.

I'll try it next time but probablem is only happens SOMETIMES so hard to have someone there when it does happen.

I did make the sound go away when i rev'd the motor while at idle and stopped, i went back and the sound was gone after the slight rev, can it still be the clutch?

Wouldn't it happen all the time if it was the clutch/throwout bearing?
