Check you air filter. I bought the car over 6 months ago and just recently put in a new filter.

I thought the car was fast with the old fitler, with the new one it surprises me everytime I am in VTEC.

Just a guess...

I'll take a picture of the spark plugs again tonite. As for power, yeah feels like its falling off pass 6000 rpms, if not it feel steady its not raising, basically the engine is just struggling to get to 8200 rpms and bogs out. This is with the WOT.

As for the air filter, i replaced that the first week i had the car along with all the lubes (motor oil, diff, trans, and coolant).

By the way the car finally threw a code P1259. I practically forced it to, I keep pushing it thru 2nd - 3rd until it cuts off at 8200-8500 rpms and finally the CEL light. It took me a few fuel cut-off to get the CEL. It is on right now as I type.

I wish i had the whole day off just to work on my car, i really hate it when there is something wrong with my car and i don't have that much time to work on it!

You know a way to check the oil pressure switch if its working? One mechanic i know of said that it could be the ECU, he said he replaced a few of them before, because the VTEC is not engaging. The only difference from those problem compare to mine is that CEL comes right now, unlike mine i had to force it to get CEL. So I really don't think its the ECU.

If possible, get a shop manual and take a look at page 8-4.

To check the oil pressure switch, disconnect the yellow/red wire from the switch and check the continuity between the terminal and ground. There should be continuity with the engine stopped, and no continuity with the engine running.

Oil pressure check is on the same page. Basically you just remove the pressure switch and connect a pressure guage in its place.

Thanx for all the reply. I was searching P1259 code problems, and it seems that a lot of them is either the solenoid or the pressure switch.

I already order a shop manual for MY00. Just waiting for it to arrive. I will be testing the pressure switch for continuity. But i need a multimeter or a test light for that. I'll see if i can get oen tonite, if not tomorrow.

I don't have a pressure gauge so i'll have to wait til thursday until i have the time to take it to exospeed.

Just quick question, how often do you guys hear that P1259 is caused by faulty ECU?

this might be a stupid question, becuase i haven't experience this. If the clutch is worn you won't be able to reach 9000 rpms?

I had worn out clutch before and I remember it was only slipping at take-off from stop to go.

Anyways, I know my clutch is not worn-out, just thought i'd ask.

Any answer to my question, could the code P1259 caused by a faulty ECU?

Butterfly valves. Thats the last thing i'm going to check. Usually when there something wrong with those, it would be noticable because it make a lot of noise. Correct me if i'm wrong...
