nah, it was mounted on the right side of the trunk on a metal mount similar to the password jdm odyssey battery mount. The connections were free and clear of anything. I just now removed the positive battery cable, and will replace it this weekend. Could that have been the underlying issue of not getting spark?

Update...with the help of s2ooonvegas, I think my problem is resolved. My new motor is from an '07 s2k, and my car (and wiring harness) is 05. I had to use my 05 crank sensor, because the harness connections are totally different for the 07. The 07 uses the same crankshaft, but a different crank pulser (reluctor wheel). SO, I had to take the oil pan and cam chain cover off to change the reluctor wheel. I thought about just splicing in the 07 crank sensor, but decided against it. All I have left to do now is put the oil pan and cam chain cover and all the other ancillary items back on, and it should fire right up (fingers crossed).

another update...got everything back together after changing out the reluctor wheel. still no spark. the only other thing i can think of is the cam sensor not reading right, or an electrical problem. i checked every single fuse...ugh...
