no spark in cylinder 4 need help
I have a 2000 Ap1 that is throwing a misfiring code. p1399 and p0300-p0304. now is only throwing p0304
I have read hundreds of threads and researched in a few forums.
So yesterday I pulled out my spark plugs. cylinder 4 plugs still looks brand new while the other
are a little black. (only idled the care for a few minutes are installing new plugs)
cylinder 4 coil pack would get extremely hot. my friend said its not getting spark????
list of stuff i have done
spark plugs
change coilpack
injectors
valve adjustment (valves and retainers are good)
map whack
cleaned out my iac
this is getting really expensive. could the ecu cause this problem?

Bad plug? Move it to a different cylinder, say #3? Then move coilpack to a different cylinder, say #2? Buy ($30) or borrow a compression tester, and check compression in all the cylinders.

So I tested a good working Ecu, no difference. Moved coils around and compression is good.
Which leads me to believe it has to be wiring.
Anyone know where to find a wiring diagram for ap1
Where are all te ground located? I only check the two grous behind the headlights.
Any help would be helpful as this is my dd

I have the same issue with my car but on cylinder #2. Did pretty much everything you did.. except ecu..
My cylinder #2 coil will not pulsate . With ignition on i checked all the wires at the coils. 1 wire + one - and the other signal.
on cylinder #1 signal was at 0v. (normal)
on cylinder #2 the signal had 5v (thats the problem)
on cylinder #3 the signal had 0V (normal)
on cylinder #4 the signal had 0V (normal)
Once the car is fired up
on cylinder #1 signal would pulse 0-5v (normal)
on cylinder #2 signal would stay at 5v (no change stays at 5V)
on cylinder #3 signal would pulse 0-5v (normal)
on cylinder #4 signal would pulse 0-5v (normal)
