no power, but battery reads at 12.7v
When I put the key in the ignition my dash does not light up, headlights do not turn on car will not try to start... I put the battery on a charger overnight and tested it this morning, the volt meter reads 12.85... put it back in the car, the capacitor for the stereo lit up to 13.0 and the horn works, but nothing else, honda alarm does not function, no headlights, no dash lights, car will not try to start...
any ideas??

Is the capacitor wired directly to the battery? If so, a fuse may have failed preventing the correct operation of the car's electronics.
A low battery may have enough volts, but not enough amperage to start the car. However, other items like dash lights don't require much current and should work if the electrical system is functioning normally.

it is wired to the battery... the inline fuse the stereo installer put in was not open, I opened it and closed it to be sure... I'll start checking fuses, thanks!
