Default No oil pressure after warming

Hi All

I´m new on this forum and also new on the Honda S2000. I´m just about to buy my first one, a year 2000 S model but has an issue with the oil pressure. As soon as the engine gets warm the oil presuure drops, what could be the problem? Oil pump? any relief valve?

Any comments or help is highly appreciated.

That's normal. Maybe your confused on oil pressure. What is it dropping to. What weight oil. How are you measuring it?

Most important question: how are you measuring it?
The S2000 does not have an OEM oil pressure readout, as far as I know.
If it's the oil pressure warning light: walk away from the car and do not look back!

What does it mean if the oil light is amber and not red?

Oil pressure at hot idle can be anywhere from 13 psi to 36 psi, if you are reading from an actual gauge. It will be much lower than cold oil pressure readings, so that is normal.

If you are just using the oil pressure dummy light to determine that it has low oil pressure, do as SpitfireS has suggested and run away quickly, the motor would be toast at that point. They should re-label the oil pressure dummy light on these cars to: Dead engine light.

The color is irrelevant, if it's ON while the engine is running, even at a hot idle, it is a sign the oil pressure is BELOW the level it should be and that is bad news.
No engine oil availabe on the market in Europe will make this light go on, in case people start asking if the owner used a OMG!-IT'S-TOO-THIN 20 weight.
The - generic - picture I found online, I didn't really think about the color.
