Just ordered a compression test meter on Amazon so I will perform the test as soon as it arrives and post the results. Today while driving I had the CEL come on again, same code, misfire cylinder 4. The car however seems to be running fine unlike before the adjustment. Still idling on all cylinders no odd noises coming from valve train unlike the slight ticking before the adjustment. My buddy advised me to clear the code and continue with driving as usual. Could the misfire code be a back to square one problem? Or should I check coils/plugs again?

Like I said l saved to buy this car. I love this car. I don't want to hurt it. Any advice helps. I have cleared the code and the let the car idle for about 15 minutes. Code still hasn't come back.

At this point is seems like anything is fair game. For all you know the guy that sold you the car could have cleared the codes right before the test drive. You wouldn't know unless you checked the readiness monitors on the car before test driving it and purchasing it.

The good news is that the code is reproducible so I would recommend starting with this thread: https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/659930-misfire-thread/
