Default No battery heat shield..suggestions?

So my s2k never came with the battery heat shield. I guess the previous owner took it off and never got around to re-installing it. The car hasn't had any issues all of this time but I would still like to get one on there for peace of mind. Should I pick up a used one from eBay or is there a better aftermarket one available? I know ARC made one but they're discontinued and quite pricey. I figure the best option is to just go with a used OEM one from eBay for $50 as it's better than nothing. Thoughts/suggestions?

Stock works fine. 57255-S2A-020 if you just wanna go to the dealer directly and buy one. It's like $50 brand new.

Before you install the shield, take the opportunity to do a valve job on it.

Thanks for the tip, but Billman already did it. The car runs great...it just currently has some electrical gremlins which are being sorted out.

I appreciate the part # and I just called my dealer. They wanted over $70 for it but I googled the number and Amazon sells it for $60 so I'll probably go that route instead. If you know what the bolt length is that would be awesome! I believe there are 4 of them and 10mm as usual. Thanks again!

I think all 4 are part #17 in this diagram, but I'm not 100% sure: https://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com...-fuel--battery

Buy a used one then make it pretty. Polish the rust off, then spray paint it.

Its helpful to have a set of ratcheting wrenches for that bolt at the rear. It is tight and deep down. You can get that bolt started without the shield, slide the shield in place under the bolt head, snug it slightly, get the other bolts in place and snug, and then tighten them all. At least that is the way I do it. If I remember correctly.

I heard that rear one is a pain to access. I actually don't have a set of ratcheting wrenches but I guess now would be the time to add them to the tool box. Thanks so much for the tip!

I almost did but they're going for roughly $60 on eBay. If Amazon has them new for the same price then I'll gladly go that route. If it's not OEM then I'll send it back.

It's useless unless it's a swivel head ratcheting wrench, regular box end plus fingers is all you need.

short one is even easier, for me at least.

The other two can be reached with a ratchet.

Swivel head - that is true. Helps a lot in my experience. Regular box end is PIA.
