Default No Air Conditioning but the Heater seems to work well?!

One of my friends in Korea got an S(German version) and realized that it doesn't have an air conditioner whilst the heater still seems to work... Does anybody know what could be done in order to resolve this problem? I've never heard of any S that doesn't have an a/c... so I ended up posting the question up here....

Thanks so much in advance,

KS

If the car is completely missing Air conditioning, the only way to get it is to install the system. There are several honda's in the US that do not come with AC, It has to be added by the dealer. The AC is a completely different system than the heater. He needs to verify if the car was built without the system or weather it just doesn't work.

To add an A/C to an S2000 that does not have one could be a very expensive proposition. The final heat exchanger is deep inside the bowels of the airbox thats behind the dash.

Might be cheaper to buy a new car.
ie. Considering the cost of adding an A/C vs depreciation loss and new car gain.

In Canada, the only model that commonly gets A/C installed at the dealership is the Civic and the labour charge on that puppy is 6 hours. Adding A/C should be possible on most models that come without it and the labour shouldn't be too terribly bad.

If the car was built without AC, Honda would have sold a AC system in kit/accesory form. You can either try and find the kit which is the entire AC system, or piece one together(much more expensive). I'm sure you would have to buy the AC kit from whatever market sold S's without AC. As it's been said, you still would need to factor in install labor.
