I'm not sure about the 4.44's, but I have 4.57's and an AP2 transmission. I have to shift to 3rd at 58 or 59mph.

Yes, it was for the change in the 2ndary reduction gear ratio AND for the different ratios for 5th and 6th. Ratios for 1 through 4 actually stayed the same. It's the reduction gear that made those work better.

That would have thrown out all my calculations due to the reduction of 1000 rpm.

Given an AP1 engine and an AP2 tranny and taking 9000 rpm as the redline .........................
4.44's would see 2nd top out at 58.7 mph
4.57's would see 2nd top out at 57 mph (you have about a 2.9% mechanical advantage). What you're seeing may be speedo error.
This would compare to an AP1 stock drive train (4.10 rear) of 66.3 (again using 9000 as redline).
None of the above compensates for non-OEM tires.

Actually, I wasn't really planning to do one. There already exists 2 threads on the clutch change and of course, this involves removing the tranny, so I don't think I have much more to add to the procedure. Those other threads were done up very nicely. This thread was only meant to show people how Honda sends this part and what other parts are included when you buy such a thing.
The only additional thing is swapping the output flange from my old tranny onto the new tranny so the propshaft will bolt back on and this has been discussed a few times, too.
I may talk about my driving impressions as every one who's done this will have their own feelings about it. But don't expect to see that till the winter's snow has gone.

Yeah, that's basically it, but the Rev had it customized (defaulted to having the S2000 gear ratios already datafilled).
