For those shadetree mechanics, in case this is of interest to you. Just got my brand new AP2 transmission and thought I'd show you how it all comes and what all is included with the tranny. This'll be a winter project, along with the HTguy clutch kit.
Here's how Honda ships these things:

I'm guessing the thing weighs just over 100 lbs (crated).

Inside:

Not really well packed, but good enough. Box has "keep this side up" arrows on it.

Plastic off:

The black wiring bundle you see is the back up light switch.

Inside the bell housing:

Release fork spring and TO bearing cylinder already installed.

Output flange end:

Of course, the flange needs to be swapped for the AP1 output flange to make it work on my car. The shifter actuator ring is fairly heavily greased.
NOTE: The tranny was shipped in 4th gear.

Other side of tranny:

Notice that the tranny comes with the fill and drain plugs and the speed sensor.

4.44 gears, a blower and now these. I think I'm done.

What about a clutch job when you swap the transmission?

That was my main motivation. I've had the HTguy clutch kit sitting on my garage floor for a while now and I thought I may as well do the tranny at the same time.

Aren't Winter time projects great? I'm about ready to take my car off the road for a few months for some major work - custom roll bar, Kirkey seats, and Laskey built engine to name a few. Next Spring it will be time for some long road trips.
