Before any of you laugh at me, I am a complete newbie to cars.

So it will soon be time for the oil change. Could anyone tell me which is the best oil to use? Should I go with the Honda Engine oil or something else.

I want to change the oil myself - anything I should know apart from what the manual says? As far as I can see I will need the following:

- Jack and two stands to keep the front up.
- Wrench to remove the oil filter.
- Torque Wrench
- New washer for the drain nut
- Oil pan

as far as your oil choice, you need to first decide between regular and synthetic. From there, try a search and check out the gazillions of options

Most people on this board would tell you not to start using synthetic oil until your engine stops using oil or 10,000 miles. If you are still breaking your engine in, a lot of folks like Castrol GTX 10W30. Don't forget the oil filter. Change it along with the oil every change. It doesn't make much sense to me to change the oil but not the filter. You'll need a 17MM socket, also.
