Maybe I'm reading his comments in THIS thread incorrectly. I followed the previous thread with all of his troubles, but the way I read his comments here was he only expected a few hp out of the cams to begin with, not after he went through all of the crap. So, if I'm reading that correctly, I wanted to know why he spent so much to gain so little.

Just for the record, I'm glad that I did the cams first, considering the hitch that we ran into. If I had already upgraded my ECU and then I installed these cams and saw results similar to our original install, I probably would've just tried to "tune out the loss" with the ECU, instead of actually investigating the root cause.

OK, that makes much more sense to me. Toda says they saw a 6-9 hp with the cams themselves when added to a car that is already able to breathe quite well. Since you didn't have all of the breathing parts installed yet, you expected much lower gains, with the understanding those parts would be added in later.

what do you mean by stock plumbing? what part of the car? dont you have the headers adn exhaust on teh car?
