Default New tct, worked for 1k miles, now ticking is back.

Hi everyone,
So I was tired of sandblasting my worm gear every so often so I just decided to buy a new oem tct from Honda. After about 1k miles the ticking still comes back at a hot start and sometimes randomly while idling and now more recently it ticks a lot up until 2.5k rpms. Could something be wrong with my oiling system? The car has 171k miles and I've been using mobil1 high mileage. Thanks in advance

Dillon

You should have talked to Billman250 and got one of his TCT's. The design is flawed with Honda's TCT so it is very possible that a new one will start making noise again.

People with TCT issues did not wear them out, it's a design flaw.

I experienced the same exact scenario. Swapped mine out for a Ballade Sports TCT with a lifetime warranty, no need for core exchange, and never a problem. since.

Lol knowledge is king .. And knowing bills background as a machinist I trust that he understands exactly why these parts work and don't work. And bills part is guarenteed ! Not Warranty .. Warranty is for things that break no?

New Honda TCT's simply don't work to resolve the noise issues, and they are too expensive to constantly replace. Billman's lifetime TCT is the way to go.

I didn't have the typical loud TCT noise, but I had the rattlesnake timing chain sound on start-up. My noise issue disappeared immediately upon Billman installing his TCT on my car at the April Dragon event. I did a used oil analysis after my Dragon event and didn't detect any excessive metal wear in the oil, so I was very happy with the results.

If you can snag Bill's TCT at a Dragon event that is the way to go, he offers a quick install at a great price.
