New stay-fast cloth top....
Hey all,
Just installed a new Robbins stay-fast cloth top. Yesterday I washed the car with a fresh mitt and it left a bunch of "lint" on the top after drying. Will it leave glue residue if I use a lint roller to remove the leftover cotton fibers? And also, what do you guys use to maintain the cloth top? I've always had vinyl on every car I've owned. Any special cleaners/conditioners required?
Thanks again.

I have the same top. The lint roller will not leave a residue, if you're concerned about it, try it out on a small area.
As far as general care goes? I really don't do very much at all. That's one of the main benefits of the cloth. Just be sure to clean any specific dirt (bird poop comes to mind) with water and mild soap. Although depending on what kind of dirt is on the top, blowing it off with compressed air or a leaf blower works well when the top is dry. Try not to scrub the top as that will cause the fabric to roughen up and fray the threads causing premature wear.
Rinse it with the hose while washing the car and let it air dry.
