with the rpm's that low you'd be lugging the car on the highway and would probably use more gas.
example.. my old civic 230hp h22, started off with an ITR trans, always got 30-33 on the highway, i blew the tranny and when we rebuilt it put an LS 5th gear, dropped the rpms by around 1000 on the highway. i felt like i had to hold the throttle on the floor to hold 80, mileage dropped to around 26.
there are tons of posts where people went to 4.4 or 4.56 gears here and didnt notice a decrease in mileage, why would you thing a taller gear would change it any?

he may be right...
the s2k has aggressive cams which may be letting in too much air at very low rpms and thus making it lug.
under 2k feels very weak for this reason on the s2k.

those motors (tsx) are designed for that. the f20c is not. a k24 makes way more torque at lower rpms than the f20c. just because it makes enough power does not mean that its efficient. the short intake runners make it very inefficient for this motor to operate at rpms that low.
and yes i have traveled for an hour at 90mph.. and ended up in jail

as i said.. rsx has a much different engine. much longer intake runners, vtc and completely different cam profiles and dont forget the base rsx has secondary intake runners, none of which the f20c has.
if the noise bothers you so much put the stock exhaust and intake back on.
i cruise top down at 75-80mph for about 40 minutes every day. noise is not an issue. honestly, this isnt the car for you if you are bothered by noise from the engine...

put an ap1 secondary reduction gear in it.
that would be basically the same as going to a 3.9 final drive, and cost you about 200 bux in parts. Hell ill trade, lol i have been wanting to put the ap2 secondary reduction in my ap1.

Wonder how much of that 'high end noise' is from the engine, these aren't quiet cars top up or down and a lot of that 'speed' noise is generated from sources other than the powerplant.
