On the web site the picture shows a cold air extension for one of their intakes. The intake for the S does not have one. What makes this intake a CAI?

None are these are "cold" air intakes (unless you drive your car in temps below 32F like me). Cooler air intakes? Definitely. The PRM's piece de resistance is the venturi affect of the assembly and the protection of the filter from heat soak, despite its location which is normally a horrible one for an aftermarket intake. Plus, install is relatively easy compared to other CAI's,
Also, the fact that the filter itself is encased results not only in a sound that is aggressive (minus the usual open air filter honk) and without the sucking air "moose in heat" sound at idle.

I don't know what's more disturbing, a "moose in heat" sound or the fact that you know what it sounds like.

Born in raised in Maine my friends. There was more than one occasion when I'd wake up as a kid and a freakin' moose would be staring at me thru my bedroom window. The only thing that would make it scoot was the barking of our 175-lb St. Bernard.
My dad lives with the Atlantic Ocean in front of him and the woods behind him. One night coming home from basketball practice I spotted a black bear in the driveway. Small cub but mama bear couldn't be too far away.
Deer on the front lawn was a daily thing. If you love animals and the outdoors, few places are nicer than Maine.
