Default New owner with a question on oil

Hey guys , I did the first oil change on my s2k a few weeks ago. Since the car takes over 5 qts I just wound up buying two 5qt jugs (sold out of 1qt). Now I have a jug with about 4.5 qts left. Is it OK to reuse this on my next oil change since it's got the cap on? Sorry I know this is prolly a dumb question. But I rather be cautious than just assume it's fine.

dont wait that long. oil does have a shelf life. but if you daily drive your car or put a decent amount of mileage then you have nothing to worry about. store in a dry and cool location

Shelf life of at least 5 years. I would think the OP would be changing his oil before that but I guess that is an assumption on my part. If it sat for a year or more, I think I would shake it up a bit before use.

OP might be lucky and own a ap1. Excess oil could always be handy!

Haha It is an ap1. But it hasn't burned a drop yet. But it's only been maybe a month since oil change. Only put maybe 300 miles since

Check it frequently. Every 500 miles MINIMUM to start, until you're comfortable letting it go longer.
