Default New owner looking to do some mods. Suggestions needed

I just purchased a 2000 S2000 with 43,000 miles.
It's totally stock with the exception of the new Alpine I had installed after some research here. It was not difficult to notice that the stock radio was terrible.
I want to change the air intake and I need some suggestions on what would be the best one to purchase and install myself. I did locate an AEM at Pep Boys but after reading the directions I returned it and decided more research was needed. Not that I couldn't install it but before I did all the work to put it inI I felt more research in order.
I can also use some help with good vendors. I have been doing some reading and searching here. I just figured I should jump in and participate.
Any other good modifications I should do?
I am really impressed with this car. Even as stock it's a beast.
I look forward to getting acquainted with this community.
I live in Massachusetts in case any other members are as well.

Hi, and welcome I have a 2000 with just a bit less miles than yours. I installed a K&N drop in air filter and added a cooling plate. Intakes don't gain much in performance but do make a lot more sound. If you would like the sound of a intake you can get the K&N brand intake. A lot of guys here like them and they do make a pretty nice sound.
Adding an exhaust is a nice mod as the car sounds great with a proper exhaust. You can also do a modification to the stock exhaust called a UK mod. This mod allows the stock exhaust to sound more deep and throaty like a aftermarket without the annoying drone you get with most aftermarket systems.
Installing shorter final drive gears like a 4.44 is also nice enjoy the car and be safe
