Xviper,
I spoke with the shop and they used a liberal amount of assembly lube all over. He told me all of the same things you told me in your post up above about assembly lube, moly etc. They told me that I should have it changed at 1000 and then every normal interval (3k or so I assume). This sounds good to me. As far as switching to a synthetic, I will more than likely follow normal procedure of waiting until 10k miles which should happen sometime in the late summer/fall.
Thank you for your help.

About going to synthetic, here is what I would do ..................................
Again, yours is a unique situation. You also have indicated that your new engine is using quite a bit of oil. It may be possible that your rings may need a lot more time (maybe not) to seat than a brand new factory engine. So, don't make an arbitrary mileage at which to go synthetic. You need to monitor your oil consumption very carefully till you can ascertain that the oil consumption is tapering off to almost nothing (or at least an acceptable amount like any other new S2000 engine). At that time, then you can mull over whether or not synthetic is the way to go. Keeping a record of the amount of oil vs miles driven will be quite valuable for you. You can look back at it and see if there are any trends.
Also, keep tabs on the viability of your PCV valve as this may come into play regarding oil useage. Note if your dipstick pops out by itself. Check for excessive blow-by.

xviper,
Excellent advice. I have been checking the level everyday but oil comsumption vs mileage is a good idea. The engine feels great other than the fact that driving is a chore because I have to 1) not vtec and 2) not accelerate hard enough to where it starts to see boost. My boost gauge helps as I can see the negative number getting smaller and smaller until it reaches 0.0psi at which time I dont accelerate any more. This is easier than the week I spent driving with a spun rod bearing! 340 miles done, 300 or so left. Not sure when I will first "boost" the car probably not at high RPM's until over 1k miles. Thank you for your help.

Bad rod bearing due to extremely low oil pressure. Killed the crank too. Engine before the spun rod bearing had compression of 225-230 accross the board so it was going strong. They examined the head when it was all apart at everything was perfect.
