Default new and improved OEM honda MTF fluid

So I'm about to change the diff and tranny fluids in my AP1. I was going to order the AC Delco syncromesh for the tranny and Amsol 607 for the diff. I noticed on the hardtop guy website that there is now a new and improved OEM honda MTF fluid. i was wondering if anyone has already experience with this. Is it any better than the older OEM honda MTF fluid? Should I still go through with just getting the AC Delco syncromesh? If I go with the syncromesh, I need 2 of these bottles correct? Thanks in advance.

If you decide to go with the Synchromesh, make sure it is Friction Modified. There is a reguler Synchromesh as well. I presently use GM SM Friction Modified, but plan to try the new Honda formula next.

You'll need two bottles of transmission fluid. I switched from Syncromesh Friction Modified to the new MTF about 1500 miles ago. So far I like it, it feels the same as the GM stuff when cold (that is to say, a little notchy for me but better than the old MTF). When hot the car shifts very smoothly, I like the feel of the new MTF better than Syncromesh Friction Modified.

Check XViper's FAQs on transmission/diff fluid changes if this is your first time.

I switched from Amsoil to this new honda manual trans. fluid@ 16,000 miles. Man, shifting is like butter even when it is cold. Absolutely love the shifts now. I'm sticking with this fluid.

I've been using the new MTF for about 2k miles...I don't understand why everyone's raving. It doesn't seem much better to me than the old MTF. Maybe part of all the hype is from just using fresh fluid.

Nevertheless, I'd still go with the new MTF because it's cheap, easy to find, and works decently well.

GMSMFM was amazing for the first 4k miles...then it turned to crap for me, especially when my car was cold.

I didn't notice any difference with the updated fluid, but mine stays in a warm garage so I haven't dealt with cold shifts yet.

Nonetheless it still shifts great.

I've just had my service from the dealer (only to keep the warranty valid )

I asked them to change the diff and gearbox fluid, which I do every time they have it every 12 months. This time it cost me ~$150 rather than $50 as they needed to flush the old stuff out
