Wink New Honda MTF

So i got my 2 quarts from hardtopguy.com. i cant believe the local dealer markup on the fluid

My initial impression was meh.......But as i was driving to work i noticed how much better the shifting was. That could be a number of things like me not changing my tranny oil for 10k. the last fluid i used was GM SM FM and that did the job but got kinda notchy arounf 5k miles or so.

I will be really impressed if the oil lasts longer than the old honda MTF and hopefully longer than the GM stuff.

I am also intrigued by the Amsoil FM Syncromesh and Amsoil severe gear. Anyone with any opinions on those

Seems that all "new" transmission fluids feel great, come back in 5-10K.

Frankly, I'm not all that impressed with the new MTF, it hasn't been as amazing as others have described.

I'm running the Amsoil right now. Not really impressed by it. I'll be switching to the new Honda MTF to see what all the rave is about on my next trans. fluid change.

Amsoil is notchy until the trans. warms up. After that it is smooth.

I am on the same boat, my 6k gm fluid feels better when it's fully warmed up.

even with the new mtf, it never really shifter better than the GM stuff.

maybe it just me and my old tranny, needless to say i am going back to gm's stuff next time

running amsoil now, also not impressed. my oem fluid was better in the high end of the rev range.

only time amsoil is better than my oem is driving around town shifting low, but its notchy at redline shifts.

next fluid im putting in is specialty formulations mtl-p and hds-5 in the diff.

500 miles on the new stuff and loving it! just to clarify, my only previous experience was the previous OEM fluid. the fact that this fluid is OEM keeps my warranty happy.

Per Honda, the new stuff is Factory fill on all 2007 tranny's.

I didn't know that Amsoil made an FM version.

I have been using Amsoil MTF for the past 2k miles and notice a bit less of a "crunch" going into 2nd gear when cold. There have also been no incidents of 2nd gear lock-out or popping out of 2nd gear since the change to Amsoil in July. Like the GM FM, I'm waiting to see how long the "honeymoon" lasts.

It is hard to believe that a fluid could compensate for possible design tolerance errors in the transmission.
