Umm....it's not unusual at all. There are many, many threads about burning oil AP1 and AP2.

I would get with someone who has a salvage dealer license and purchase a whole parts car.
I'm in Orlando idk where your located but I can help you if your interested.
That way you would have a motor and have parts to sell and make back your money

Well I worked something out with insurance. Guess they felt bad because I've only had the car for like 5 weeks. But I've got 3500 to spend and would like to keep the motor I have now. So if anybody knows where I can find a crank let me know. Or would it be beneficial to go ahead and do the stroker kit while its apart?

I would implore you to think about doing the motor swap and going FI. You said you have $3500 to play around with. You can get an AP2 motor for about that there is an AP2 60k mile motor on ebay right now for $2,800.00. If you want bang for your buck your going to have to boost IMO if you are going to tear the engine apart and rebuild it be careful who you get to do it, I've read alot of people do not hone the engine properly. The engine's are made well I don't feel like you stand to gain alot from upgrading the internals, a 3mm head gasket and a stage 1 kit I think is your best route.

Out of curiosity, how did you get insurance to cover a blown engine? I didn't think they would.

1. Usaa
2. I just got the car
3. They screwed up and didn't record my verbal statement and it took them three weeks to call me and they said we had to start over.
4. Luck
5. I have multiple accounts with them

By no means did I lie to them. I told them what happened and they covered it. I think a combination of the 5 things helped out. And the investigator was a cool dude I think he kinda helped me out. I hate that I had to go through them to be able to afford this.
