Smile New fuel pressure reg? fuel pump?

So yesterday, I started having a problem where my car would not start. When the key is in the ignition everything lights up bright, the car turns over... just wont start. After priming in (turning on and off and onn and off) about 6 times it usually starts right up and once its running it has no problems whatsoever. It does not die while driving or stutter or hesitate or anything like that. There is no CEL. My buddy seems to think I need a new fuel pressure regulator. My S is an 02 and has 70k on it. Anyone had this problem? Or have any ideas? TY in advance.

Fuel pump and/or filter. You can test out the FPR by detaching the vacuum hose from it and see if the car starts normally. By taking out the vacuum, you're essentially increasing the fuel pressure on startup. See if that works...

will try this after work.. thanks! It stopped doing it for three days, and started up fine. Then it started happening again last night I guess its going to the shop tomorrow if I cant figure it out. So if I disconnect the vacuum from the FPR and it starts fine then I need a new FPR?
