New to forum, would greatly appreciate the help
Hey guys. I've had my s2000 for a while now and since my purchase it has been nothing but a great car. Bought it will a blown engine, spent a week getting a new one in and it has been great, until now. It's starting to get nice here in Northern Colorado so I decided last week was the time to put the deuce out of the garage. I had run it a few times over the winter and all was well. Since actually driving it again and putting a load on the engine it has started to have a high idle all on its own. Babied her the first day back out on the road and all was well until I left work. Started her up and after the cold idle cycle it never dipped below 1600/1800 rpm. Considering I've had issues with the IACV before I decided I might as well just replace it. Purchased one from the Honda dealership and didn't change anything. I've done the ECU reset and tried to get it to relearn idle but nothing. Thing still runs great, pulls strong through vtec, but sitting at traffic lights is starting to really get aggravating. Just recently started to check for vacuum leak but I figured I'd probably get a CEL if I had one, also haven't heard any audible sounds leading me to vacuum. You guys think it could be a vacuum leak somewhere, or am I missing something. Sorry about the novel but it's a slow day in the showroom.
Thanks in advance for the input!

what year? if a pre-06, have you checked the throttle cable to make sure it's fully extended at idle?
hopefully billman will weigh in---he can probably diagnosis this in 2 seconds!
welcome to the forum!
(and, fyi, the '32 Ford already has the nickname "deuce" when referring to a car)

I knew I missed something! It's a MY00. I was tinkering with the cable last night and seem to have it all the way out. When I head out for break I will double check before I leave. Thank you for the advice!
I have heard a lot about billman, seems to be the guru when it comes to these things. So great to find people like that.
I appreciate it sir! This seems like a very worthwhile place to come when I'm stumped and hopefully be able to give out a little help in return.
(I know, I know. It's just the nickname she picked up when I lived in Ohio)
