New to the Forum! And... Leak down numbers...
Hi all, I've been a member of the forum for a few years now, but have never posted as I've mostly just been an observer/reader.
I bought a salvaged AP1 years ago, and it mostly stayed in my garage while I finished school. After I finished, I painted it Championship White and now I'm onto the motor...
I did a leak down test tonight. Motor has approx. 160k on it and the numbers were as follows...
Cylinder 1 - 8%
Cylinder 2 - 5%
Cylinder 3 - 20%
Cylinder 4 - 8%
I would say that I am average with working on engines, but don't have a lot of experience with leak down tests. I tried to listen around the intake and even the exhaust, couldn't hear anything coming directly from either location. However, i felt as though I heard a general "hissing" with all of the cylinders, but again not specifically from the intake or exhaust.
I was hoping to get as much out of the motor as I could before replacing it. How concerned would you be with cylinder 3? Is this something that I could just ride for a while and just deal with the reducing power?
Oh yeah, burns about a 1 quart to 1.5 quarts between changes depending on how I drive.
Any input would be appreciated!

A little smoke out of the exhaust when initially going into Vtec. I want to say that it feels a little sluggish, but I really have nothing to compare that to as it's been years since I've driven another S2000, so I probably shouldn't trust my butt dyno.... Other than that, it seems just fine.
