New engine, no break-in oil
So my thrust bearing went out on my 04 S (which makes a terrible noise and vibration, BTW) necessitating the replacement of my short block. So after about 12K miles, I basically have a new engine.
The dealer filled the car with Castrol Synth Blend, which has me a little concerned that they basically used a synth, albeit a blend, instead of the regular break-in oil they use at the factory.
I have a can of Mr Moly break in fluid on order, but I've been told not to use it with synth. Any opinions on whether or not I should use it with the blend from the dealer, or should I drain the engine and use dino with the Mr Moly? Or something altogether different?

What were the early signs of the thrust bearing going? I have a whine from the engine once it warms up and am trying to locate the source.

VoIPA - Are you in Alabama or Texas?
I'm in Huntsville, AL. No major prisons here. Just NASA and some Army brats.

I was driving back from Houston in the 80's and had a 4 hour delay at 2am due to a prison breakout. I tried to sleep at a rest-stop, but the cops came by every 15 minutes and shined a light in the car!!!
