New Engine Burns No Oil?
Honda replaced my engine in my MY01 last month after #4 cylinder failure at 19k miles. After 1,000 miles my original engine if I remember correctly had burned over a quart of oil by then. My new engine, an 03 I assume hasn't burned a drop of oil in 1400 miles of use. Is this good, bad, or doesn't make any difference.

Doesn't make a difference. Might be a better-controlled build process or a difference in the way you're driving (break-in and all that). Be sure you're reading the stick right by wiping it before reading - I thought I hadn't used oil for ~3000 miles and then learned to wipe it first. Was down a quart...

My 02 purchase in June/July starting @ 2mi never burnt oil. I have no idea what that means if it's suppose to burn oil. I just got an 03 RSX Type-S currently now at 1500mi and my cousins 02 RSX Type-S just hit 3000mi still no oil loss.

3400 miles on my '03 and I thought it was a tick low one time when I checked. The next time I checked it was full, even though I always check it parked on the same level ground. I'm pretty happy with mine, considering what I've read here about the S using oil. Broke engine in pretty much by the owners manual, VTEC quite a bit, and no track, yet.

I've been tougher on this engine for break in than my first. Occasional V-tec 6-7k by the 200 mile mark. To 9k by the 500 mile mark. And always keeping the tach over 3500 rpm. This motor definately feels stronger than the original. I was just used to motor #1 using a substantial amount of oil I'd say on average 1+1/2 quarts every 3000 miles for the first 10k miles or so. Before it stopped burning it.

Mine didn't start burning oil until around 2,300 miles. Every engine will be just a little different, it's hard to judge. Just keep an eye on your oil especially after some "spirited driving". The more time I spend up in VTEC land, the more my engine burns oil. I now have 17,500 on MY 2001.
