Out of curiosity, if I have the mugen CAI, will that have to be removed? I read the engine needs to be dropped from the bottom. So I assume this has nothing to do with the cai right?

Also, CMSI what did the parts and labor cost u? I may have to go this route sooner than anticipated.

tks

The mugen CAI may have to be removed if it sits over the cross beam like the SC unit.

460 Toda Flywheel
420 ACT
74 OEM disk

Is the ACT pressure plate any better than the Mugen pressure plate. I noticed that the Mugen unit is only $370.

Not sure.

ACT PP, OEM Disk, toda or comptech flywheel, is what most SC OTC and SV guys are using.

I am happy with what I paid for. There is a considerable difference now.

I have read that the ACT is just a reworked OEM unit, and I assume that the Mugen is too. I wonder what the clamping force is for the Mugen...

44% is the clamping force increase over stock for the ACT. ACT HD00 is the unit I am using. This is the base ACT. I felt that it was enough to use. OEM disk was used to keep streeat ability and also suggested by hardtopguy.

380+ ft lbs of tq is what they also claim. Any clutch manufacturer is going to use OEM specs and then improve upon them.

When I launch off the line at 2K and creat wheel spin don't be upset... because the OEM will bog out and eventually burn to ashes like mine did. I couldn't believe what I saw, when they brough me the stock clutch. I kept the stock flywheel, it is scortched, but I might have it machined, lightened and then sell it.

A local owner did his own install and took him over 15 hours of install time and he didn't have a SC on his car.
That local owner would be me. And it did take about 15 hours doing the work in my garage with the temperature hovering around 100 degrees. I took a lot of beer breaks. Now that I've done it once, I could probably do a clutch change in about 8 hours in cooler temperatures.
