Default New Clutch Installed, Pedal Feels Too Light..?

Sup fellas,

Installed a clutch masters fx200 yesterday along with a CC ultra light flywheel.

Everything is great, clamping force, no buzz, and a little bit of giddy up.

My only beef is that my clutch pedal feels much lighter than stock and the engagement point is down too low for my liking. Is there any way to remedy this?

Bleed the clutch system first. Use a 1 man bleeder (bottle with a vacuum line). The 2 man system sucks.

Once its bled, if the low engagement issue persists, adjust the pedal freeplay a bit tighter. You should really only have about 1/4" of pedal freeplay at the top before the clutch starts to disengage.

My clutch was bled last year, when I bought the car and replaced all fluids but I suppose it couldn't hurt to do it again. And I'll definitely be looking in to the free play adjustment as well.

I'm really surprised at the situation considering the new clutch has a stronger pressure plate.

You need to change your clutch fluid often. Good practice is to swap out MC fluid with each oil change, then once a year do a gravity bleed.

One weak point of this car is keeping the clutch hydraulics working properly. Fortunately, its easy to deal with. Its just not set and forget.

Clutches do tend to firm up over time.

But if your freeplay is too large, all you're doing is pushing slop. So even having the strongest pressure plate in the world would still feel like pushing slop.

Let us know how it goes after the freeplay is adjusted!
