Default New Clutch

I need help ordering a new clutch and or flywheel. As of yesterday my stock clutch on my 04 84k S was slipping so bad I couldn't make it up the slighted hill. Also when I first got it I had to press so hard on the clutch to engage in I honestly thought It was going to break or something.

To be honest, I now pretty much nothing about clutches. I need help on what to order before I take it to a shop to get the parts installed. Do I just need a clutch, fly wheel, and bearings or whatever? I know this may annoy people but I need help.

I love doing burnouts. I have stop-tech rotors, Project MU Pads, cold air intake, custom exhaust,new wheels & tires.. no turbo or and other engine mods. I am though thinking about a supercharger in the future so a stronger clutch should be considered?

Looking to order today. Any help would be Greatly Appreciated. It's you guys or nothing lol. Someone plz inform me

OEM everything, you won't find anything better. You don't need an OEM flywheel, but the disk, PP, and most importantly the bearings should all be OEM(forget all that stage 2 crap, or oe replacement parts). I would also start saving up for a new differential if you like doing "burnouts" unless you're talking about smoking something. What kind of maintenance have you done on the car? Brake fluid, clutch fluid, oil, diff, tranny?

I have the oil changed every 3000 miles with Mobil 1. Thats about it unfortunately. That diff is a great idea, iv never thought about that and I absolutely will save for one. Burnouts yes. I have read great things regarding OEM everything as well. Like I said, just changing the oil as far as maintenance goes. I'm just very ignorant when it comes to that shit. I also work as a tower technician for Verizon, sprint, t mobile, etc. Usually out of town 6 days a week. Put almost 40k on the car since I bought it nearly 3 years ago

You don't need an OEM flywheel, and with such low miles chances are you can get it resurfaced. Or you can just get a new one OEM, or any other brand you want, just to be safe, make sure you get new flywheel bolts if you get a new one. And get a new OEM rear main seal

Can not thank you enough Slowcrash. What about the differential? Would that be multiple items as well?

It's sort of a joke, our differentials are not known to handle launching and will chew up the weak pinion gear with repeated launches. Wheel spin is fine, but we don't have huge torque so doing burnouts is tricky. If you're intent on doing this, it will require you either reinforce your current differential, which will take downtime, or you can get a used one and have it rebuilt. Or just throw in a used one and drive the car differently.

Billman, just curious... of all the various aftermarket parts available --- are ANY obviously better than OEM Honda parts? After all, Honda has made a reputation outta long term reliability in nearly everything they've made.

From my experience, when it comes to racing bikes... 99% of OEM parts = no issues.

^^Good question. I am hoping to get the SoS stage 1 kit this spring and have wondered about upgrading/updating my clutch. Would OEM be good for this or do I have to go aftermarket to handle the new power (less than 100hp increase)?
