Also removing the CDV does not adversly effect the pressure plate

CDV Removal DIY

I've posted in a few threads recently the tools I used to pic the snap ring in a few seconds (hook pics). You can buy them from any auto store.

Do not attempt the project unless you purchase a sharp enough and strong enough pic. Dental pics from walmart will not work !
