New to All This, Need Advice.
Hey guys!
I just got my S2K not to long ago and its bone stock.
I don't want to do forced induction, I want to go the all motor way.
I don't have the slightest clue on what to upgrade after the classic I/H/E combo.
What do you guys recommend? Thanks for the help!

Stroke it, search in the all motor forums. Basically if you think you can pull more power out of the engine with bolt ons you're sadly mistaken. Intake and exhaust + test pipe will net you a few hp if you get good ones, aside from that you need to spend some serious cash, and you'll be reducing the reliability of the motor in the process. If money means nothing to you, stroke it to 2.5 get a standalone ecu, tune it with bolt ons and call it a day. Or you can spend another couple thousand dollars and get individual throttle bodies, another thousand to get adjustable cam gears, tune some more. Then if you're still not happy get high compression pistons,(be careful with those valve clearances) 12.5:1 is probably the limit if you're running pump gas. If you still want more then you can run e-85 and even higher compression but that's going to cost you another $1,000, you'll be needing much larger injectors and a more powerful fuel pump, oh and tuning, you'll need more of that, and you'll need a new fund for O2 sensors as you'll be running through them. All that is going to run you close to $7,000 if you do most of the labor yourself, but you'll be at about 290whp. So for only $2,000 more than an off the shelf turbo kit, you can have less power, and have the same reliability. The only thing you'll have that a turbo won't is that sweet sweet throttle response that can only be had with and atmospheric engine.
Mind you this only the engine side, you'll need more supporting mods if you want to harness the extra power. Chassis bracing, suspension bits, you can easily spend $5,000 there alone. Don't even think about launching the car at a drag strip with a stock diff and the extra power, oh you'll need a new clutch too. You can also spend more money to have the diff reinforced and get stronger axles.
If you have the money go for it.

Forget doing anything. Just drive it for a year and enjoy it, get to know it first. One year. Save your money.

Nevermind the header... Intake, exhaust, tune, then leave it alone. You'll come in around $1500, gain a fat wallop of torque, and won't compromise the integrity of the motor. Cracking open the motor and spending thousands of dollars in pursuit of 20-30HP is just a waste of money IMO. At that point you might as well buy a supercharger and call it a day.
