Need your ears guys - yet another ticking sound thread
Ideas what this might be?
115k km AP1 2003, TCT done last year.
Have not done valve retainers, but planning to.
Not sure if/when I did valve adjustment, I'll probably do it soon anyway.

OEM TCT, worm gear sandblasted.
Here's a few more videos:
1. Cold
2. Warmed up a bit
3. After a run
4. After a run, consulting with guys
5. Back in the garage
Lemme know what you think.
Otherwise, car runs great.
Had a VTEC solenoid leak a few months back, that was sorted.
We'll probably take it apart a bit to see how things are, and to upgrade to AP2 retainers on the intake.

Sounds like TCT noise. According to Billman, OEM units don't last very long, even with a modification.
From what I've seen, this seems to be true.
What makes me lean towards TCT issue is that the problem isn't very loud unless the engine is warm.

Been years since I read about sandblasting the TCT worm gear and having it work for any length of time.
Research replacements. #1 safe choice is a new OEM but may wear out quicker than you like. Some aftermarket put too much tension on the chain and cause damage. Billman's model works flawlessly but is only available in the USA.
