Default Need suggestions for a Clutch for FI

I am getting a MASE turbo kit in about two weeks

- I am expecting to be pushing about 450HP when this kit gets installed.
- this WILL be my daily driver

with this in mind,
and I am starting to think twice about my decision to go with a stage 4 competition clutch. People are telling me the pressure to shift will be hard as hell as a daily driver. but how "hard" are we talking about? Is it that big a deal?

What do you think about the competition stage 4 clutch? Good? bad?
if bad, what else do you recommend that has a good light feel as a daily driver but can still handle up to 500HP? Can I afford to go down a stage or two for a lighter feel while still supporting ths kind of power?

will i NEED anything else, like a flywheel, etc or is a clutch all i need?

i know im a noob ok (not all of us are mechanics) so just help me out by answering my questions please- thanks!!

I am running the comp stage 4 and the pedal pressure really isnt that bad at all. Its harder than stock but not by too much. The biggest thing is how fast it engages, if you haven't driven a 4 or 6 puck before you're in for a surprise. Its kinda like learning to drive a stick all over again, that being said once you get used to it its really not that bad.

If you want to run the stock flywheel make sure you get it resurfaced, any kind of auto oriented machine shop should be able to do that. I went with the 11.5lb flywheel, the car revs faster but makes it harder to get rolling but I like it.

Thanks for the input!

Why do you suggest to resurface my oem flywheel?

Not resurfacing your flywheel could result in premature clutch damage. You don't want to hurt your new clutch right off the bat do ya?

I've had this same question for a while.

My brother-in-law said I should also probably replace the "throw out bearing". Is this the same as the clutch release & pilot bearing? Is this something that should be replaced?

Also could someone expand on the effects of a lighter flywheel? What are the pros and cons between using the OEM flywheel and an lighter one.

Thanks.
