need some help please
Hello I know I am new to the forums but I ran into a little issue and I was hoping to get some info. I have a 2002 s2000 with 202,000 miles on it. The car has never needed any major mechanical parts and has never had valve adjustments or anything like that just fluid changes. Should I adjust the valves or am I safe to keep running it? Also I noticed last winter for the first time I don't get both rear tires spinning at the same time the driver side tire seems to stop spinning when the car is stuck and it has never been like that before. What should I check and is it anything major or can I keep driving. Thank you for your help sorry about the essay lol.

A valve adjustment wouldn't be a bad idea.
The rear differential is a limited slip unit. It works via a torque multiplying worm gear. One wheel has to have some minimum amount of traction so that the torque multiplier will work. If the slipping wheel has 0 or close to 0 traction, it will overwhelm (underwhelm) the multiplier and keep spinning.
If one wheel is off the ground or on very slick ice....it will keep spinning.

Ok thank you one other question I have had the mufflers cut off about 60K miles ago when I cut them o had intended to put aftermarket mufflers but the ones I got were junk shooting mice out of the tailpipe so I just left them off will this cause any issues and why does it burn a quart of oil every 1000 miles or so roughly every week I put a quart in. Will a valve adjustment solve the little tick I hear at idle?

Also the one wheel peel is happening when both tires are on ice a few years ago I taped my car spinning both wheels at idle no one in the car no brakes on a freshly plowed driveway both tires were spinning under same circumstances it only spins both for 5 seconds then the driver side wheel stops spinning
