Default Need New Clutch at 140K

Hey what is up forum. I know alot you guys do your own work and it is all about making very fast car faster. I bought ours in 2000. She drives it normally
and it puts a smile on my face every time i get in it. The engineering on this car amazes me. It has hands down been the best car I ever owned. We did not have to do our first brake job till 4 or 5 months ago. Tell me another car that goes over 100k miles on the factory brakes. Which brings me to the clutch, It started slipping about 2 months ago and has been getting steadily worse. I have two questions, can you do any further damage driving it like this? And also since I will not be putting in myself can anyone recomend someone in the Orange County area? thanking you in advance

Aside from the chance of your clutch completely failing, I don't think there is any undue danger by driving on it gently until you can get it replaced.

You could start scoring up the flywheel if it gets really bad. But if your going to replace or resurface the flywheel I guess thats not an issue.

How did you determine your clutch is wearing out?

when the engine revs disproportionately to the car accelerating...your clutch is slipping, and thus worn out.
