Default Need help removing valve cover

I'm all out of ideas....anyone know a good way to remove a stripped valve cover bolt? I have a dremel, but not sure if I should drill a hole.

umm if you can't get at it easily perhaps a chisel and knock a groove in it?? so you can get a screwdriver in there perhaps?? then at worse drill the head but you would have to retap the hole etc so a PITA.

Make sure block completely cold too

just put a nick in it so you can get the tip of a strong flathead scrrewdriver or anything in a similar shape and tap it with a hammer so you can spin it out.

These screws are actually soft. Easy to drill. Try a screw extractor and 1/8 or 1/16 drill bit. I believe these are M6 so close to 1/4 Standard. The extractor...

If you're able to do it this way you don't have to worry about damaging anything.

A nice set of easy outs. They are like reverse drill bits that drill into a little and pull it right out. Love mine.

Although that is tight clearance the post above me might be more up your ally. I would recommend one or the other though.

Yep, I did the same thing to this bolt. Get some reverse thread extractors and a torque wrench. Take your time

use a dremel and cut a thin line in the middle, then use a flat screw driver.. but maybe try first with a needle nose plier and see if u can take it out from the side

I vote for cutting a slot with a dremel then using a flat bladed screwdriver to remove it. I've used that method in the past.

If that doesn't work you could still use the easy outs.
