That bar needs to come off to install the exhaust. unless you think you can squeeze the resonator up through it.
Heat the bolts up and try again, maybe also try flash cooling it with an aerosol can upside down.

Thanks. I'm trying to get it off now but all the bolts are torqued super tight. Would it hurt anything to run without it on until I got my stock exhaust uk modded

No real harm not running it for little bit in my opinion, but it will affect handling if you're pushing it.

I couldn't figure out how to get the OEM exhaust off with the cross bar on. Rattle gun got it off.
From the looks of the bar you've run over some major rocks! I couldn't avoid a chunk of concrete and bent part of mine too. (No other detectable damage.) Replacement is available and inexpensive and there are fancy aftermarket versions as well.
A month after removing the OEM exhaust I had to remove the obnoxious Invidia Q300 Dual that I'd installed. It was replaced with a Tanabe Medalion Dual without removing the cross bar. Both are 4-piece, the OEM is 1-piece.
If you've not started removing the stock exhaust disconnect the hangers at the rear of the car first! Once the exhaust is disconnected from the header or cat it drops down and the exhaust tips get hung up on the under body.
Car on a lift or jackstands with the rear wheels removed makes the job easier too. Not a 20 minute job like the Mighty Car Mods lads episode but simple enough.
